Welcome to Great Lakes HEAL!
Thursday evening (March 18th, 2009) brought local medical doctors and professors together to discuss health risks we face from environmental degradation of area waters and future threats to water. The event drew an engaged crowd, and people are asking for a repeat at a larger venue.
Local event coverage: “Medical Doctors, Physicians Address Public Health Threats in Upper Peninsula” (click here to read)
Dr. Gail Griffith’s presentation, “The Upper Peninsula’s Toxic Legacy” is now available at the (U.P. Toxic Legacy tab)
If you live in the Marquette, Michigan area or are interested in understanding local water quality reports, what they do and don’t include, and what it all means, see Dr. Katy Nelson’s article (Water Quality tab).
Watch for our survey results and additional presentations from “Your Water, Your Health.”
More to come soon. Thanks for visiting Great Lakes HEAL.
